Plain-English software guidance

WhatConverts: see where useful enquiries come from

Compare the value of call and form tracking before adding another reporting tool.

The short answer

Consider WhatConverts when calls and forms are important sales enquiries and you cannot connect them to their marketing source. If you only need a simple monthly enquiry count, begin with a shared log.

Published-information research, not hands-on testing. Provider links are direct and untracked; no commission is earned.

WhatConverts

For businesses that need to connect calls and forms to their source and review which enquiries were useful.

View current WhatConverts plans
  • Call and form attribution
  • A clearer record of useful enquiries
  • A route from marketing activity to real sales conversations

Check before choosing: Check current UK number availability, usage charges, integrations and recording-consent requirements before choosing a plan.

When your current method may be enough

Keep a simple source, enquiry, owner and outcome log first. Tracking software is only useful if someone reviews the quality of the enquiries. See the practical starting point

Prove that your team will keep the trail.

For 30 days, give every enquiry a source, quality, owner, final outcome and value. If one shared sheet stays accurate and answers your spending question, keep it. You may not need WhatConverts.

Manual tracking earns its place before software because attribution only becomes useful when somebody records whether the lead was worthwhile and what happened next.

Use the 30-day method

Choose WhatConverts if

  • Calls and forms arrive from Google Ads, organic search, directories or several campaigns.
  • You cannot reliably connect the call or form to the advert, keyword, page or channel.
  • You need to judge marketing by qualified leads or sales, not clicks.
  • Your team will qualify leads and add quoted, won or booked value.

Plan boundary: Plus is the practical minimum when calls and forms both matter. Pro adds call flows and custom or scheduled reporting. Elite is the route for fuller customer journeys, pages visited, multi-click attribution and Lead Intelligence.

Skip WhatConverts if

  • The business receives very few enquiries and a spreadsheet can show the pattern.
  • Nearly every enquiry comes through one simple form and phone attribution does not matter.
  • Nobody will qualify leads or record sales value.
  • The main issue is missed calls, slow replies or weak follow-up.
  • You expect a CRM, phone system or appointment-booking tool.
  • The website cannot implement and test scripts, dynamic number insertion and consent behaviour.

Observed plans and usage

PlanDisplayed base priceWhat the captured grid showed
Call Tracking$30/monthCalls and texts only
Plus$60/monthAdds forms, chat and campaign or keyword reporting
Pro$100/monthAdds call flows, report builder and scheduled reports
Elite$160/monthAdds customer journey, pages visited, multi-click attribution and Lead Intelligence

Price basis: observed 1 September 2026 on the official WhatConverts pricing page. Not checkout verified. The rendered grid used “$”; the audit treated it as a US-dollar display, but UK billing, tax and +44 number usage were not checked. Each captured single-account plan displayed a $30 usage credit. Usage beyond the allowance can increase the bill.

Captured default usage included up to 148 phone leads within the credit, and up to 300 tracked forms, chats or transactions on Plus and above. Additional local numbers displayed at $2.50 each, local minutes at 4.5¢ each and form, chat or transaction tracking at 10¢ each after included usage.

The continuing work

Someone must install and test tracking, check dynamic number replacement, protect consent behaviour, qualify leads and attach sales value. Blocked or expired first-party cookies can leave incomplete or “Direct/None” attribution. A clean dashboard does not make incomplete operating data reliable.

Other options

Free route

Spreadsheet and GA4

Good when lead volume is low and the team can ask and record source accurately.

Direct rival

CallRail

The first direct comparison for call tracking and lead management. Compare UK number, recording and usage needs.

More complex

CallTrackingMetrics

Consider for more complicated routing or contact-centre requirements.

Customer scenario, not a testimonial

A Leeds plumber compares Google Ads calls with booked boiler jobs

If the adverts produce plenty of calls but nobody records which enquiries booked, extra tracking still cannot answer the commercial question. WhatConverts becomes useful when the team will carry source, lead quality and booked value through to the final outcome.

How these links work

Provider links on this page are direct and untracked. We do not currently earn commission from them. Recommendations depend on the job, limitations and reasons not to buy, not on a potential payout.
