About the publication

Business software advice that starts with the problem.

Is My Marketing Working? helps owners and small teams decide what to fix themselves, what software might help and what they can leave alone.

Why this site exists

A business can have plenty of website visits and still struggle to turn interest into useful enquiries. Quotes can sit unanswered. Customer details can be scattered across inboxes. Buying another subscription is not always the answer.

This publication connects those everyday problems with practical first steps and software comparisons. It is for different kinds of business, including shops, online sellers, appointment-based services and teams that send quotes.

What you can read here

Our guides cover getting found, website enquiries, missed calls, sales follow-up, forms, landing pages and customer conversations. Comparisons explain when a tool fits, where it falls short and when an existing list, calendar or clearer process may be enough.

The Journal brings the guides together. The free starting-point helper suggests a check based on the problem you choose; it does not inspect your business or diagnose your results. Calculators work from the numbers you enter and cannot verify them for you.

How information is selected

Coverage starts with a reader's problem and the decision they need to make. Product features, prices and plan limits are checked against published provider information where available. Comparisons consider the work involved in setup and everyday use, not just the headline feature list.

When a figure cannot be verified, a guide should explain the limitation rather than fill the gap with a guessed price. Dated source checks show when information was reviewed; they do not guarantee that a provider has kept its terms unchanged.

The software guidance is based on published-information research, not hands-on product testing unless a page explicitly documents otherwise. Illustrative examples explain a decision; they are not testimonials or claims about customer results.

A free fix can be enough

A clearer form or one shared follow-up list may solve the problem without a new subscription.

Reasons not to buy

A useful recommendation explains who should skip the product as well as who might benefit.

Limits stay visible

Look for plan restrictions, extra costs and the source date before relying on a comparison.

Commercial disclosure

We do not currently earn commission from provider links.

Current links to software providers are direct and untracked. We may use affiliate links in future, which could pay us a commission if you buy through them. Any such links would be disclosed on the relevant page.

Payment must not determine which product suits the reader. Free alternatives and reasons not to buy belong alongside a recommendation.
